Heavy rains were once again forecast in Karachi.  According to details, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert predicting torrential rains in Karachi, the capital of Sindh.  It has been reported that due to low pressure of monsoon winds, a new monsoon system has entered East Sindh. Due to this system, heavy rains may occur in Karachi.
 The meteorological department further said that the low pressure of monsoon winds is present in the Indian cities of Mumbai and Gujarat while a new monsoon system has entered Sindh due to which heavy rains are likely in many parts of Sindh including Karachi.  The Meteorological Department issued an alert saying that there could be heavy rain in Karachi on the evening of September 13


Following the forecast of heavy rains, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has directed the concerned departments to take immediate steps to prevent stagnant rainwater in the city.

 It may be recalled that the Meteorological Department has a record of 89 years of rainfall in Karachi. According to this record, the city of Quaid has never received as much rainfall in the last 89 years as it did in the year 2020.  On the other hand, the Meteorological Department said that hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, including Islamabad, during the next 24 hours.  The weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country including Islamabad during the last 24 hours.  The highest temperature was recorded at 44 degrees Celsius in Turbat, 42 degrees Celsius in Sibi and 41 degrees Celsius in Bahawalnagar.
