Karachi: The dam of Sikhan river near Quaidabad has been breached
Heavy rains in Karachi have disrupted livelihoods, completely submerged roads and flooded homes.
Major highways of the city including Shara Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, II Chandragar Road, Shahra-e-Pakistan and University Road are submerged in water. Roads have become ponds and people have almost stopped moving
There is still rain water in many settlements of Karachi due to which the citizens are facing severe distress, vehicles and motorbikes were stopped on many roads and in many areas PMTs were blown up and wires were broken. ۔
Korangi crossing road closed due to flood in Malir river while Korangi causeway is already closed
On the other hand, a landslide took place near Gulistan-e-Jauhar Munawar Chowrangi.
NDMA says Karachi drains and their intersections have been cleared. Nine FWO teams are working in major canals including Gujar Nala
The highest rainfall of 127 mm was recorded at Faisal Base in Karachi yesterday. The Meteorological Department has forecast more rains till Thursday morning.
